It is a Registered Voluntary Organisation under 1860 societies Registration Act with the main thrust to organize and Mobilise the rural people and youth to channalise their energy to achieve prosperity and welfare of the people. To Organise/Campaign to eradicate illiteracy among the masses. Imparting Civil & Public Health sense through Library and cultural activities.  For the Development of Women by Organising Self Help Groups, thrift/savings and Income Generation Programmes. To improve Agriculture and Animal Husbandry through modern methods to achieve more production.

13.  Major Activities of the Organisation
KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is an institutional project of the ICAR to demonstrate the Application of Science and Technology input of agricultural research and education on the farmers field and in the rural area with the help of a multidisciplinary team of scientists.  The other important activity of KVK is to plan and carryout  On-Farm testing to verify, test, validate and refine location specific technologies.  The KVK will organize long term vocational training courses in the agriculture and allied vocations for the rural youth with emphasis on learning by doing for generating self employment through institutional financing.  Another important responsibility of the KVK is to organize Front Line Demonstrations in various crops to generate production data and feed back information.  It is also the duty of KVK to organize trainings to update the extension personal within the area of operation.

WATERSHED DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
About 17 Watershed development programmes were conducted by the Grama Nava Nirman Samithi as project implementing agency in the Watershed villages being implemented are afforestation, pasture development, Horticulture, Agriculture, Soil Conservation works, moisture holding works beside importing trainings on various helath & social activities. Formation of Self Help Groups, thrift programmes are also being maintained in the Watershed villages. The village committees are taking care to plant mango trees, teak and other useful trees besides avenue trees on both sides of the roads.
