Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is an institutional project of ICAR to demonstrate the Application of Science and Technology, input of agricultural research and education on the farmers field in the rural area with the help of a multidisciplinary team of scientists. The other important activity of KVK is to plan and carry out On-Farm testings to verify, test, validate and refine location specific technologies. The KVK will organize long term vocational training courses in the agriculture and allied vocations for the rural youth with emphasis on learning by doing for generating self employment through institutional financing. Another important responsibility of the KVK is to organize Front Line Demonstrations in various crops to generate production data and feed back information. It is also the duty of KVK to organize trainings to update the extension personal within the area of operation.
